Bird Paradise is a small island in the middle of a lake, renowned for its ancient banyan tree that has grown into a forest on its own, providing habitat for thousands of birds. The place described by Mr. Ba Jin in his essay ‘Bird’s Paradise’ is exactly here, where the spectacle of birds leaving and returning to their nests is breathtakingly beautiful.
The island is home to a large number of egrets, with white egrets leaving early and returning late, and grey egrets leaving late and returning early, creating a spectacular scene of alternating flight and calls in the morning and evening. It is highly recommended to visit in the evening for the best viewing experience.
When visiting Bird Paradise, one can stroll along the bird-watching corridor, climb the bird-watching tower to overlook the island, or take a boat to get up close and personal with the grandeur of Bird Paradise. In 1933, the famous writer Ba Jin was so impressed after a boat tour that he wrote the renowned essay ‘Bird’s Paradise,’ which made the place widely known.
