Bo’an was the manor of Zou Xiaozhi (also known as Shi Ji), a native of Qiantang in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. At that time, reeds grew in clusters here, full of wild charm. Looking from a high place, the entire manor seemed like a fairy island floating on the water, hence the name ‘Bo’an’. Now, in the thatched cottage, there is an antique screen placed in the middle. Around it are displayed stationery and old-fashioned furniture. On the left is a waterside tea room, which is a great place for reading, drinking tea, and enjoying the scenery.
