Based on a true story, the musical ‘Chicago’ was adapted from a real case and brought to the stage by the ‘master of musicals’ Bob Fosse in 1975. Set in the dazzling and decadent atmosphere of the 1920s, it tells the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer, who murders her lover after he threatens to leave her. To avoid conviction, she hires Chicago’s most cunning criminal lawyer, deceives the public, media, and her rival cellmate Velma Kelly, turning her crime into a series of sensational headlines, ultimately helping her escape the death penalty and become a celebrity of the era. The show runs from December 12th to 15th, approximately 140 minutes including a 20-minute intermission (subject to the actual performance).
