Bruce Lee’s former residence is located at No. 13, Yongqing First Lane, Enning Road. In the 1940s, it was built by Li Haiquan, the father of Bruce Lee who is one of the ‘four famous clowns’ in Cantonese opera. After Li Haiquan moved to Hong Kong, he rented out this house. In 1978, the descendants of the Li family regained the property rights. Bruce Lee’s former residence is located within the campus of Peizheng Primary School. With its dilapidated appearance, it is not eye-catching. If it were not for the ‘cultural relic protection’ seal pasted on the wooden door, it would almost be mistaken for a storage room of the school. It is a brick-wood structure with the architectural style of Xiguan mansion. Inside, there are carved beams and colored carved glass screens as partitions. Facing north and sitting south, it has three entrances. The width is about 8 meters, the depth is about 21 meters. It covers an area of more than 200 square meters and the building area is about 400 square meters. The Liwan District government plans to restore its original appearance and develop it into a memorial hall and martial arts hall of Bruce Lee’s former residence. Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:30 to 21:30.
