Futuosi Temple, also known as Baolong Temple and Baoyan Courtyard. The temple is surrounded by mountains on all sides. It is like a support for a cauldron. In the middle is a depression shaped like a pot, hence the name Futuosi Temple. In the second year of Qianhua in the Liang Dynasty (912), Monk Juehai founded it. In the second year of Zhining in the Song Dynasty (1065), it was renamed. It was destroyed by war at the end of the Yuan Dynasty.

It was rebuilt at the beginning of the Hongwu period in the Ming Dynasty and renamed Futuosi Temple. In the twelfth year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1655), it was rebuilt and renamed Baolong Temple. During the Tongzhi and Guangxu periods (1862-1908), the abbot monks Gensheng and Qingshan solicited donations for renovation and expansion, and it became quite large-scale. Only one main hall remains today.

Futuosi Temple is named after the mountain. It is close to the mountains and rivers, with a quiet scenery and towering ancient trees. It is a well-known Buddhist holy place and is known as ‘ten miles of bamboo sea, a hundred feet of spruce, a thousand-year-old ancient temple, and eternal Tiaoxi River’. The temple now provides lodging rooms. Tourists can enjoy a moment of tranquility and quiet here.
