Xu Bing is widely regarded as an important conceptual artist in the fields of linguistics and semiotics today. He is the first Chinese to win the MacArthur Award, known as the ‘American Nobel Prize’. Xu Bing’s ‘Book from the Ground’ created in 2003 will land in Shenzhen in May. This is Xu Bing’s first solo exhibition in South China. It continues the story of Xiao Hei in ‘Book from the Ground: From Point to Point’ into a Shenzhen side story, telling the life story of Shenzhen people from day to night in twenty-four hours. The ‘Book from the Ground Laboratory’ is the second art event after the ‘Xu Bing X Jay Chou’ art project. The story will take place in C Future Lab, Zhongzhou Future Laboratory, an experimental space sample of 2000 in Shenzhen. This exhibition abandons the traditional text presentation method in exhibitions, focuses on discussing the creative themes in Xu Bing’s work ‘Book from the Ground’, deeply explores the behind-the-scenes creation story of ‘Book from the Ground’ for nearly twenty years, and extends to more dimensions of imagination with the help of modern technology. Opening hours: Open all year round from 10:00 to 21:30. Supplementary notes on preferential policies: Children over 1 meter need to purchase tickets. Children under 1 meter can enter for free when accompanied by an adult. One adult is only allowed to accompany one child.
