The Cailun Bamboo Sea is located in Huangshi Town, Leiyang City, Hengyang. It is located in the upper reaches of the Leishui scenic belt. Roads, waterways and railways directly lead to the scenic area, and the transportation is very convenient.
The bamboo forest in the scenic area covers more than two hundred large and small hills. It undulates according to the mountain terrain, lush and green, like the sea. The scenery is very charming and is known as the ‘largest bamboo sea in Asia’.
There are more than twenty kinds of bamboo species in the Cailun Bamboo Sea. The Leishui River passes through the bamboo sea, forming a beautiful landscape where green bamboos and clear waters complement each other.
In addition to the bamboo sea, the scenic area also has historical and cultural landscapes such as Zixia Zen Temple, Dahetan Ancient Street, ancient fish fossil site, and Cailun’s ancient papermaking workshop. There are also natural landscapes such as natural caves and Shilin Reservoir. It is a composite tourist scenic area integrating sightseeing, leisure and exploration.
