Cangxia Park is located along the lower reaches of the Minjiang River. To the east are the Liberation Bridge and Zhongzhou Island.
On the south bank of the Minjiang River are Lunqian and Yantai Mountain in Cangshan District, Fuzhou. There are old civilian houses, churches, Putuo Temple and Chen Zhengu Temple from past dynasties on the mountain. At Longtanjiao, there is the place where Chen Zhengu prayed for rain and an iron cable suspension bridge leading to Jiangxin Park.

Walking west along the Minjiang River, you can see the Sanxianzhou Bridge spanning Sanxianzhou. Upstream of it, there is a wooden bridge by the Bang River that leads all the way to the Dragon Boat Building (the original Bamboo Grove Shangshu Temple and Sun Dasheng Temple were relocated here in recent years and have now been demolished). It’s quite cool under the big banyan tree of the Dragon Boat Building by the Minjiang River.
