Cangyuan Garden is located in the southeast of Baotu Spring Park in Jinan. It is a traditional Han-style courtyard building within a garden. There are two large courtyards and three halls in the garden. The north and south are on a central axis. There are corridors surrounding the halls on all sides. The garden is surrounded by winding corridors. Along the corridors, graceful bamboos are planted. There are many rocks placed in the courtyard, and large bonsais are displayed. The pine trees are tall and straight, and the wintersweet is orange-yellow, highlighting the winter landscape. Especially after snowfall, the pine, bamboo, and plum trees each show their charm, forming a ‘painting of the three friends in winter’. To the north of the north hall is a wide platform. To the north of the platform is the Fengxi Pond. Connected to the northwest of the garden and the corridor is the ‘Fengxie’, which protrudes into the water and forms a scenery with the trees on the Moon Island in Fengxi. One can also see the Laihe Square, Luoyuan Hall and the waterside pavilion tea house. Looking east, one can see the rockery behind the rocks and trees. The scenery is far-reaching and becomes a scenic perspective line in the park. At the same time, there is a memorial hall for Wang Xuetao in Cangyuan Garden. Wang Xuetao is a famous contemporary freehand flower-and-bird painter. The memorial hall is a classical quadrangle-style building, divided into four exhibition halls: ‘Wulou Mountain Villa’, ‘Ouhua Tower’, ‘Luoyue Hall’, and ‘Wahu Studio’. There are also reception rooms, offices, and service departments. The museum treasures and displays 212 posthumous works of Mr. Wang Xuetao, 6 famous calligraphy and paintings, and the four treasures of the study that Mr. Wang used during his lifetime. The specific business hours and opening status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
