The Cao Wang Buddhist Temple was originally built in the 13th year of Chunxi in the Southern Song Dynasty (1186). It was originally named Cao Wang Shrine and also known as Cao Wang Temple. It is named after worshipping and offering sacrifices to Cao Zhi, the fourth son of Cao Cao of the Three Kingdoms period. The town where it is located is also named ‘Cao Wang Town’ because of the temple. After several rises and declines, it was rebuilt in a new location in March 1999, covering an area of 7.7 mu. Inside the temple, there are Yuantong Treasure Hall, Mahavira Hall, Manjusri Pavilion, Samantabhadra Pavilion, bell and drum towers, Qielan Hall, Patriarch Hall, etc., as well as ancillary facilities such as dining halls and dormitories. The entire architectural complex adopts the Ming and Qing styles. Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 15:30; on New Year’s Eve, open from 07:00 to 00:00.
