Changhe was originally in the land of Yue in ancient times and has a long history. Legend has it that in ancient times, there was a Dragon Pool in the north of the town. From time to time, ‘evil dragons’ caused chaos. People opened rivers and built bridges to suppress the evil dragons. This river is relatively long and passes through the town, hence the name ‘Changhe’. Changhe Ancient Town began to form a natural town in the Southern Song Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, the pattern of Ze Street and Huai Street in today’s old street of Changhe was formed.
