The ancient village is located in Lubao Town in the central and northern part of Sanshui District, Foshan City, covering an area of 4.5 square kilometers. Changqi Ancient Village was built in the Ming Dynasty. It backs against Wenbi Mountain and is adjacent to Jiuqu River. The relatively older buildings still existing were built in the early years of the Qing Dynasty. It is a large-scale ancient village with well-preserved condition recently discovered in Lubao Town.
In 2008, Changqi Village was successfully selected as one of the first batch of ancient villages in Guangdong Province. At present, Changqi Village has a population of about 1200 people. It is a traditional agricultural village with simple folk customs and beautiful scenery. It is also an ecological demonstration village in Guangdong Province.
