Changqing Temple is located at the south end of Tazi Bridge in the south of Shaoxing City, less than 200 meters away from Lu Xun’s former residence. It used to be one of the eight major temples in Shaoxing. It was first built in the second year of Yonghui in the Tang Dynasty (651). It was once in ruins from 841 to 846 and rebuilt in 958. It can be called an ancient temple with a history of a thousand years. The temple faces east with ochre walls and black tiles. A gilded plaque with ‘Changqing Temple’ in red on a red background is hung on the red mountain gate. Entering the gate is the front hall. Originally, there was a Maitreya Bodhisattva with an open chest and a big smile. The opening hours are subject to the opening status on the day.
