The Changting County Museum was named a national key cultural relic protection unit in 1995. The museum is solemn and magnificent, with green grass, ancient cypresses and fresh flowers. As soon as you enter the museum, you are facing the ‘old site of Tingzhou Examination Yard’. It is located on the central axis of the historical buildings of the ancient city of Tingzhou, and the construction of the ancient city of Tingzhou unfolds on both sides. The Tingzhou Examination Yard covers an area of more than 10,000 square meters. It is composed of gate towers, open spaces, halls, back halls, wing rooms and bungalows. The architecture is simple and elegant, the environment is elegant, and the scale is grand and magnificent. In front of the examination yard are two lush and vibrant cypresses. These are ancient cypresses planted in the Tang Dynasty. According to expert determination, they have a history of more than 1,200 years. The tree age is exactly the same as that of the city of Tingzhou. It can be concluded that these two cypresses were planted in the early years of Dali in the Tang Dynasty and are historical witnesses of the ancient city of Tingzhou. The trunk is thick and the tree is about 12 meters high. It is an extremely precious ancient cypress in Changting County. On both sides of the Tingzhou Examination Yard are the Tingzhou Hakka Museum and the Changting Revolutionary History Exhibition. The entire exhibition hall of the Tingzhou Hakka Museum covers an area of 700 square meters and is divided into four exhibition rooms. The exhibition is divided into five parts. The first part is ‘The prestigious capital of Hakka in China’; the second part is ‘Brilliant and colorful human landscapes’; ‘The long-standing Hakka culture’; ‘The world’s Hakka people are one family’; ‘Rising and forging ahead Changting’. Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday all year round from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:30 to 17:30; Closed all day on Monday all year round; Open from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:30 to 17:30 on National Day.
