The Chaozhou Museum was originally located in the Confucian Temple of Haiyang County, a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit on the west section of Changli Road, Chaozhou City. It has now been relocated to the People’s Square. The branch museum, Hanbi Tower, is located by the lake in Chaozhou West Lake Park. In August 1983, it was formed by the merger of the former Chao’an County Museum and the Chaozhou Museum. The museum originally belonged to the Municipal Bureau of Culture. After October 1989, it was under the office of the Chaozhou Municipal Cultural Relics Management Committee. Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year from 09:00 to 17:00; closed all day on Monday throughout the year; open from 09:00 to 17:00 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day.
