Cheguaner, a comedy troupe in Southwest China, was established in 2016. The name ‘Cheguaner’ is a homophone of the local Chongqing dialect ‘Cheguai’, which means a humorous person. Unlike the traditional crosstalk art originating from North China, this troupe mainly focuses on dialect comedy, covering various artistic forms such as Yu-style crosstalk, skits, stand-up comedy, magic, and mime. Cheguaner is a local comedy team in Chongqing, registered in August 2016.
The team leader is Zhou Dianjie, and the team members include comedians Li Chunlei, Wu Nan, Geng Canlin, Yu Yue, Li Shanglin, Liu Jiayuan, Jin Jin, and others. Cheguaner mainly covers comedic art forms such as Yu-style crosstalk, skits, stand-up comedy, magic, and mime. Open all year round from 19:30 to 21:30; open on Saturdays and Sundays from 15:30 to 17:30, with actual admission times subject to the performance schedule.
