Chen Baisha is a Neo-Confucianist in the Ming Dynasty and the ‘first person’ in Lingnan. Later generations respectfully call him ‘Mr. Baisha’. In addition to exhibiting Chen Baisha’s life, brief introduction of deeds, philosophical works and a large number of relics and calligraphy, there is also an antique teahouse. In addition, there is a Ming Dynasty ‘chastity archway’ built with traditional Chinese wooden structure.

In history, Lingnan region was called the land of barbarians in the south. Chen Baisha was the first literati in Lingnan region who was allowed to enter the hometown of the literati ancestor Confucius (Confucian Temple in Shandong) to worship. Therefore, he is called the ‘first person in Lingnan’. There are many relics of Mr. Chen Baisha in Jiangmen. In addition to ‘Chuyuntai’, ‘Chuntaiyang’, ‘Lushan Academy’, ‘Jiahui Tower’ and other places that have long been obliterated, there are still ‘Baisha Memorial Temple’, ‘Biyulou’, ‘Chastity Stele Archway’, etc., all of which are buildings in the Ming Dynasty.
