Chen Lianbo Mansion

Chen Lianzhong (1884-1974), styled Zhongrong, Hengji, was a native of Jian Village, Xiqiao, Nanhai, Guangdong, and the grandson of Chen Qiyuan, a pioneer in China’s national industry. From the 1920s, Chen Lianzhong was active in the Guangdong business community, with extensive management experience in the silk industry, banking, mining, and insurance. He established several banks and served as the comprador of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and the head of the Guangzhou Chamber of Commerce.
The former residence of Chen Lianzhong is a garden-style architecture that blends Chinese and Western elements. It was listed as a cultural heritage site in Guangzhou in 1993 and opened to the public as a museum in December 1996. The museum now houses a collection of fine exhibits and temporary exhibition halls.
