Chengyanggang Village boasts a long history, numerous famous figures, and rich cultural heritage, making it a well-known historical and cultural village in the Chaoshan region. Chengyanggang Village, historically known as ‘Dalianggang’, was the location of Fengling ancient port, an international port in Chaozhou during the Tang and Song dynasties, and a port of call on the Maritime Silk Road of the South China Sea, earning the moniker ‘The Throat of Eastern Guangdong, the Gateway of Chaozhou’.

The village has been inhabited since the Tang Dynasty, with settlements, palaces, and ports and docks as key external gateways. By the second year of the Taiping Xingguo era in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 977), the village had already developed to a certain scale. Chengyanggang Village still has streets built during the Northern Song Dynasty, such as Yongxing Street, Shunxing Street, and Yuanxing Street, which are over a thousand years old and their ancient appearances are still faintly visible.

It is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
