The Chengyi Science and Technology Exploration Center is a national 4A scenic spot, a Chinese space science popularization experience base, a national marine science education base, a Xiamen science education base, and a Fujian Province primary and secondary school research and practice education base. Located at No. 339 Xinglinwan Road, Jimei District, the entire building features a modern JiaGeng architectural style.
The center consists of 5 floors, 4 above ground and 1 underground, comprising a main exhibition hall and two special cinemas (X-Flight Time Adventure Special Cinema and Joyful Journey Special Cinema), with two themed restaurants on the underground first floor. Focusing on four main themes: ‘aerospace, navigation, earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, and science night tours,’ the Chengyi Science and Technology Exploration Center features seven major exhibition areas, namely ‘Dream Launch Station,’ ‘Interstellar Exploration,’ ‘Aviation Laboratory,’ ‘Navigation Laboratory,’ ‘Ocean Mobilization,’ ‘Xiamen City Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction Science Education Base,’ and ‘Blue Dream. ‘ The Dream Launch Station on the first floor is specially tailored for children with a mini-science-themed exploration park, and a new introduction of the Wonderful Ball World. The second floor’s Universal ‘Influence’ Light and Shadow Exhibition uses advanced technological means to take you into a fantastic world created by light and shadow. The third floor exhibition includes four areas, showcasing the application and principles of ‘heaven and sea’ technologies, allowing visitors to directly experience the path of science and technology strength. The fourth floor’s Xiamen City Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction Science Education Base educates visitors in a fun and engaging way, teaching disaster prevention and emergency self-rescue skills. Opening hours are as follows: from 07/01 to 08/31, Saturdays 09:30-21:00; from 07/01 to 08/31, Mondays to Fridays, Sundays 09:30-17:00; from 09/01 to 06/30, Tuesdays to Sundays 09:30-17:00; from 09/01 to 06/30, Mondays are closed; on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, 09:30-17:00. If the Science Exploration Night is closed, the business hours end at 17:00. Preferential policies for children: those under 1.25 meters (excluding) in height (accompanied by an adult, one adult can only accompany one child under 1.25 meters) enter for free; children under 90cm in the cinema are free, and children over 90cm but under 1.25m need to purchase cinema tickets on site; those over 1.25m to 16 years old can buy preferential tickets with student ID, ID card, or household registration book, at 45 yuan per person. Elderly: those over 65 years old enter the main exhibition hall for free; those aged 60-64 enjoy a preferential price of 45 yuan per person in the main hall.
