Cibao Nunnery (also known as Dongshan Nunnery) is located in Guikeng Village, Yixi Town. It was built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and has a history of nearly 500 years. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, the monk Zhenji of this nunnery, who was illiterate, practiced here for decades. Before his passing away, he suddenly recited a quatrain: Having lived by the Han River for sixty autumns, Amitabha leads the way to the west. White clouds serve as the ground on the western paradise road. Farewell to the donors and don’t stay long. Thus, it became famous far and wide and had prosperous incense offerings. It was damaged during the Cultural Revolution. After the reform and opening up, with the strong support of enthusiastic people with religious beliefs and the local government, in 1995, initiated by Shidao Zheng, fundraising for reconstruction began. The current building area of the temple is 4.5 mu. There are a mountain gate, Yuantong Treasure Hall, Merit Hall, Guanyin Pavilion, Ksitigarbha Pavilion, Patriarch Hall, and several rooms for monks.
