The China Paleozoological Museum is a museum dedicated to the origin and phylogeny of vertebrates. It is a natural science-themed museum that systematically popularizes knowledge of paleontology, paleoecology, paleoanthropology, and the theory of evolution using fossil specimens as carriers. The basic exhibitions in the museum consist of four parts: ‘Dinosaur World (electromechanical simulation)’, ‘Paleoichthyology Hall’, ‘Paleo-Reptile Hall’, and ‘Mammal Hall’.

Through physical exhibits and other display methods, it systematically presents the origin and evolutionary history of prehistoric vertebrates to the audience, and showcases the fossil specimens of ancient vertebrates preserved in marine and terrestrial strata deposited in various periods in China and the research results in this scientific field. Among the precious exhibits on display in the Paleozoological Museum are the Latimeria specimen known as a ‘living fossil’, as well as high-quality fossil specimens such as the majestic Yellow River elephant skeleton that has been included in elementary school textbooks.

Recently, the museum has added precious exhibits that have caused a sensation worldwide, such as feathered dinosaurs, bird fossils such as Confuciusornis, and the world’s first pterosaur embryo.
