China Celadon Town is located in Shangyange, Longquan County, originally the site of the state-owned Longquan Celadon General Factory. After the closure of the state-operated factory, it was redesigned into a celadon cultural park. The town is small, with a single main street, and the entrance to the cultural park is easily visible from the roadside. Within the park, the two tall chimneys of the old factory site still stand, exuding a sense of history. Visitors can learn about the history of celadon and experience the process of making celadon, complemented by exquisite renovation design and beautiful ceramic displays, making it another outstanding celadon museum in Longquan. The cultural park is divided into three parts: the visiting area, the experience area, and the leisure area. The visiting area is mainly for sightseeing, with several exhibition halls such as the Land of Porcelain, the History of Porcelain, and the Journey of Porcelain, showcasing the culture and craftsmanship of celadon. The entire visiting process takes about one hour.
The experience area is where the Celadon Cultural Park becomes interesting. You can personally make your own porcelain (10 yuan per hour), with staff on hand to guide you on how to shape the clay. The finished clay can be handed over to the park’s factory for firing, and they will mail the finished product to you (firing and mailing fees are additional), making it a unique travel souvenir. Both adults and children should not miss this opportunity. The leisure area features Piyun Manor, which offers accommodation with strong Chinese-style decorations. Friends who enjoy porcelain culture may consider spending a day here in tranquility.
