The Civil Aviation Museum is a specialized museum dedicated to civil aviation, located at Civil Aviation 200, Beijing Capital Airport Auxiliary Road, with a total area of 284 acres and a total construction area of 21,980 square meters. The main exhibition hall is designed in the shape of an aircraft engine.
The museum has collected a vast array of exhibits, including various aircraft models such as Li-2, C-46, Il-14, Yun-7, and Airbus A310-200, which reflect the different periods of civil aviation in China. Significant historical events such as the Hump Flying, the ‘Two Airlines’ Uprising, the ‘August 1st’ Inaugural Flight, and the Lhasa Test Flight are also documented with literature and materials within the museum. The Civil Aviation Museum serves multiple purposes, including exhibition, education, scientific popularization, and leisure. It is equipped with flight simulators to provide visitors with flight experience services. The multi-function cinema includes three theaters (one IMAX giant screen theater, one film theater, and one digital theater) offering visitors educational and entertainment services. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-16:30, all year round; closed all day on Mondays; and open on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, 09:00-16:30.China Civil Aviation Museum
