The China Donkey Museum is located in the National Black Donkey Breeding Center on the south side of Provincial Road 329 in the western suburbs of Dong’e County, Shandong Province, co-planned and designed by China Agricultural University and Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts. The exhibition area is about 1220 square meters, divided into five parts: the preface hall, the ancient origins, the donkey’s back, the donkey for the world, and the donkey in art. The museum boasts a rich collection, mainly displayed through text, images, artifacts, and multimedia, supplemented by narrative scenes, vividly and detailedly presenting the biological evolution, social role, industrial value, and artistic image of donkeys. Here, visitors can explore the origins of donkeys, review their history, marvel at their wisdom, appreciate their spirit, and savor their culture.
