The museum has been closed for upgrading and renovation since June 6, 2018. The specific reopening time will be announced later. China Fire Museum is located in Xicheng District, Beijing, and is under the Fire Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. The exhibition area is 9,500 square meters and is divided into four floors, consisting of an entrance hall, an ancient exhibition hall, a modern and contemporary exhibition hall, and a multimedia exhibition hall.


It displays the long history of the continuous development of fire protection concepts, organizations, legal systems, and technologies in various historical periods from ancient times to modern times, as well as colorful fire protection cultures. The exhibition area of the China Fire Museum is 9,500 square meters and consists of an entrance hall, an ancient fire protection hall, a modern and contemporary fire protection hall, a fire prevention and disaster prevention experience hall, and a temporary exhibition hall.


The ancient and modern exhibition halls display relics, documents, pictures, and video images reflecting the historical development process of China’s fire protection, covering contents such as fire prevention and extinguishing ideas, organizations, legal systems, and technologies in various historical periods. The fire prevention and disaster prevention experience hall is located on the second basement floor.


It uses multimedia exhibition technology to display contents such as urban fire protection planning, building fire protection facilities, knowledge of fire and earthquake emergency handling, and has created relevant scene simulations and experience projects, integrating education into scenes and experiences. The fire museum has many experience projects, such as alarm experience on the first basement floor, earthquake escape experience, subway fire experience, household fire extinguishing experience and many other experience projects.


There are also video experiences in the above-ground exhibition halls. But it must be completed with the assistance of staff.



Opening hours: Open from 09:00 to 17:00 on Wednesdays to Sundays throughout the year; closed all day on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the year; closed all day on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day.


Must-see tips: 1. Ticket application time: 09:00 – 10:15 in the morning and 12:00 – 15:15 in the afternoon; demonstration time: 10:00 – 10:40 in the morning and 15:00 – 15:40 (Wednesday to Friday); 10:00 – 10:40 in the morning and 14:30 – 15:10 (Saturday and Sunday). The ticket sales system will automatically close 15 minutes after the experience hall opens and when the tickets for this session are all applied for. Each admission ticket is only for the visitor’s use for this session on the same day. 2. Audience limit: Each session of the fire prevention and disaster prevention experience hall has a limit of 40 people. Among them, the audience limit for the earthquake emergency避险 experience project and the subway fire emergency evacuation experience project is within 20 people.
