Established in September 2010, the China Lake-Brush Cultural Museum covers an area of over 1700 square meters and is located at No. 158, Lake-Brush Street, Shanlian Town, Nanxun District, the capital of Chinese lake brushes. The museum focuses on the culture of lake brushes, revolving around the history of Shanlian lake brushes, the craftsmanship of brush making, the inheritance of brush workers, the social customs of brush workers, and the culture of lake brushes in relation to calligraphy and painting.

It emphasizes physical displays, supplemented by image materials, and integrates sound, light, and electro-optical scenes along with multimedia technology to fully showcase the rich connotations and unique charm of lake brush culture, highlighting its historical status in the culture of the Four Treasures of the Study in China. The museum is mainly composed of seven multifunctional exhibition halls integrating sound, light, and electricity, including a序厅, a尾厅, and five other halls with different focuses, detailing the origin and development of lake brush culture.

Since its opening, the museum has centered on lake brush culture, combined with the profound cultural heritage of Shanlian Town, to further meet public needs, enhance taste, enrich connotations, and truly become a primary window for outsiders to understand Shanlian, achieving good social benefits. In 2011, it was successfully selected as the Zhejiang Province Anti-Corruption Cultural Education Base, Huzhou City Social Science Popularization Demonstration Base, Nanxun District Primary and Secondary School Students’ Quality Education Practice Base, and Patriotism Education Base.

In 2012, it was awarded the Nanxun District Ecological Civilization Demonstration Base, Women’s Civilization Post, and Youth Civilization Number. In 2014, it was designated as the Zhejiang Province Cultural Industry Demonstration Base. The museum’s opening hours and business status are subject to the actual opening conditions of the day.
