The China Industrial Design Museum is located in Building 3 of Shanghai International Industrial Design Center. It is a museum themed on industrial design, showcasing the past, present, and future of industrial design. It collects design anecdotes and documents related to it. Currently, there are more than 700 products on display as well as reminiscence manuscripts of old designers. It shows the characteristics and development context of Chinese industrial design from different angles.
Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year from 09:30 to 17:00; closed all day on Monday throughout the year; open from 09:30 to 17:00 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day. Preferential policies: Children: Children 1.3m (inclusive) and below (accompanied by adults) are free. Elderly: People aged 70 (inclusive) and above (need to show senior citizen card or ID card) are free. Children of martyrs: Children of people’s police and martyrs in public security (need to show relevant certificates) are free. Disabled people: Disabled people (need to show disability certificate) are free. Military personnel: Active-duty military personnel and veterans (need to show relevant certificates) are free.
