The China Lighthouse Museum, situated near the sea in Zhuyu New District, Daishan County, marks a unique milestone as the first tourist attraction in China themed around lighthouses. This museum, which harmoniously blends with the new district’s development, takes inspiration from the world’s renowned ancient lighthouses, and adheres to their authentic architectural styles.
The first phase of the museum, now constructed and open to the public, showcases an impressive collection of seven renowned lighthouses from various countries, each with distinct architectural designs. These include the Amédée Lighthouse from France, the Perwom Lighthouse from Germany, the Cuff Lighthouse from Canada, the Kåfjord Lighthouse from Norway, the Robben Lighthouse from South Africa, the Colon Lighthouse from Uruguay, and the Portland Lighthouse from the United States.
Additionally, the museum features an exhibition hall spanning 600 square meters, which houses nearly 300 object panels. Visitors have the opportunity to delve into the history and evolution of lighthouses and enjoy stories of famous lighthouses within.
The museum operates from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30 from Monday to Friday, all year round. On Saturdays and Sundays, as well as throughout the year on legal holidays, the museum is open from 08:30 to 17:30. It remains accessible without closure at noon on weekends and legal holidays. Please note that the specific business status may vary depending on the day’s operational circumstances.
