The China Modern Literature Museum is a landmark building filled with a rich literary atmosphere and serves as the center for modern Chinese literature resources, combining the functions of a museum, library, and archive. The museum currently houses a collection of 380,000 items.
In the garden of the new museum building, there stand statues of thirteen literary masters, including Lao She. The modern new museum boasts 52 libraries, containing works, letters, and collected books of numerous modern writers such as Ba Jin, Bing Xin, Ding Ling, and Zhou Yang, with over 300,000 items in the collection.
The museum features four exhibition halls, showcasing the ’20th Century Literary Masters Exhibition,’ ‘Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature Exhibition,’ and the ‘Writers Library Exhibition.’
Opening hours: The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-16:30, all year round; closed all day on Mondays; open on National Day from 09:00-16:30, with weekly closures on Mondays (except for holidays, with special notices). The actual business status is subject to the day’s opening conditions.
