The China Pavilion of the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 in China is an important landmark building of the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition. It will be a centralized exhibition area for Chinese horticulture. It is designed in a semi-circular shape. Its appearance is like an ancient Chinese palace, and also like a thatched cottage or farmhouse. The building draws on the traditional Dougong and mortise-tenon structure and follows the wisdom of the ancients’ ‘nest living’.

The main exhibition hall is covered under the terraced fields. The golden roof on the terraced fields is covered with beautiful flowers. The entire building design covers an area of 4.8 hectares, with a total construction area of 23,000 square meters. There are 2 floors above ground and 1 floor underground, with a height of 36 meters at the highest point. The roof of the China Pavilion is in the shape of ‘Ruyi’.

In order to build a roof in the shape of embracing the moon, various steel structure components are used in the construction, including 132 main trusses, 5,400 small crossbars, 2,184 tie rods and 696 horizontal support rods.

Opening hours: Open from 09:30 to 17:00 all year round. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
