The China Science and Technology Museum primarily serves as a hub for scientific education. By integrating scientific, intellectual, and interactive exhibitions with participatory educational activities, it reflects scientific principles and technological applications. In addition to educational activities based on exhibitions, the museum also organizes various scientific practices and training experiments, allowing visitors to deepen their understanding and appreciation of science and technology through personal participation. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:30-17:00, closed all day on Mondays; open on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day from 09:30-17:00.


Preferential policies include free admission for children under 8 years old or under 1.3 meters in height, accompanied by an adult (one adult can accompany up to three children for free), and a discount for children aged 9 to 18 with valid identification. Elderly people over 60, military personnel (active, retired, disabled, armed police, and retired), and disabled individuals with valid identification enter for free. Firefighters and dependents of martyrs, military personnel who died in service, and those who died of illness, with valid identification, also enter for free. Full-time undergraduate and below students (excluding adult education and postgraduate students) with student IDs receive a discount.


Additional note: The above preferential policies are only applicable to the main exhibition hall.


Service facilities include parking lots at Xin Ao Shopping Center or the Olympic Forest Park (refer to the site for prices; address: please search on Baidu; space: see on-site announcement). The China Science and Technology Museum does not provide parking; visitors coming by car are advised to find parking spaces on their own. Xin Ao Shopping Center and the Olympic Forest Park both have formal parking lots, about a ten-minute walk from the museum.


Dining options include: 1) Chinese Set Meal Restaurant offering various Chinese set meals, healthy and nutritious, with a variety of options. Operating hours: 11:00-14:30 (open only on exhibition days), located on the underground first floor. 2) Big自助 Pizza with over a hundred Western delicacies available for self-service, the restaurant can accommodate 300 people dining at the same time. Operating hours: 11:00-15:00 (open only on exhibition days), located on the underground first floor.
