China Teachers’ Museum

The China Teachers’ Museum is located in Qufu Normal University. It is a museum themed around teacher culture and characterized by teacher ethics education, filling a national void. The museum is positioned as a ‘cultural memory of the national culture, a historical heritage of education, and a spiritual home for teachers.’ It aims to be a ‘national teacher ethics education training base and an international cultural exchange window for teachers.’ As an ethics education base established by the Ministry of Education in Shandong, and a national Sino-foreign youth exchange base jointly built by the National People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Shandong Province, it is included in Shandong Province’s ’14th Five-Year Plan’ for significant educational projects.
Following the directive spirit that ‘a museum is a large school,’ the museum takes ‘the way of teachers’ as the main thread of display, with the display concept of ‘seeing history through objects, seeing people through history, and seeing spirit through people,’ striving to become a ‘new Apricot Platform’ for tracing origins, seeking virtues, and aspiring to be like the virtuous. The museum features three permanent exhibitions: ‘The History of Teachers,’ ‘The Cradle of Teachers,’ and ‘The Paradigm of Teachers.

‘ ‘The History of Teachers’ exhibition aims to ‘trace origins and seek virtues,’ exploring the origins of teaching and understanding the initial intentions of becoming a teacher. ‘The Cradle of Teachers’ aims to ‘cultivate virtues and refine oneself,’ reviewing the inheritance of teaching and nurturing the emotions of being a teacher. ‘The Paradigm of Teachers’ aims to ‘aspire to be like the virtuous,’ admiring the models of teaching and sublimating the realm of being a teacher.
