The China Water Museum, situated on the south bank of the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, showcases a unique architectural design that blends a tower and a museum. This structure incorporates classical style, modern materials, and advanced technology to create a ‘floating on water’ crystal tower.
The museum’s core exhibition area is divided into three main parts:
1. **Water Conservancy Through the Ages**: This exhibition vividly displays the 5000-year history and culture of Chinese water conservancy. It uses a combination of scene restoration, cultural relic display, graphic presentation, video interpretation, and multimedia application to bring the history to life.
2. **Water in All Things**: This exhibition adopts an interactive approach, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the vast ocean of knowledge about water technology and resources.
3. **Dragon’s Blessing of Rain**: This exhibition interprets the origins and cultural connotations of Chinese water conservancy through inscriptions on traditional dragon button seal sculptures. It expresses the beautiful vision of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
Visiting hours for the museum are from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-16:30. The museum is closed all day on Mondays.
