The China Water Museum is located on the south bank of the Qiantang River in Hangzhou. The architecture combines a tower and a museum in one design, integrating classical style, modern materials, and advanced technology to create a crystal tower that appears to float on water.
The museum’s core exhibition area is divided into three main parts: The History of Water Conservancy, The Diverse Aspects of Water, and The Dragon’s Blessing of Rain.
The History of Water Conservancy exhibition uses a combination of scene restoration, artifact display, graphic presentation, video interpretation, and multimedia application to vividly display the 5000-year history and culture of water conservancy of the Chinese nation.
The Diverse Aspects of Water exhibition adopts an interactive approach, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the vast ocean of knowledge about water science and water resources.
The Dragon’s Blessing of Rain exhibition interprets the origins and cultural connotations of Chinese water conservancy through inscriptions on traditional dragon button seal sculptures, expressing the beautiful vision of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
Opening hours: Year-round, open Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 16:30; closed all day on Mondays.
