Built on the site of Ming Dynasty ruins, Chinese Water Town centers around the renowned Guangyue Tower and divides the urban area into four sections with a cross-shaped pedestrian commercial street. The cross street serves as a commercial pedestrian walkway, flanked by traditional commercial establishments. North of the Tower, the street is predominantly for dining: well-known national catering brands, local and regional eateries, traditional snacks, and quyi performances. South of the Tower, the street focuses on lodging establishments: hotels and inns with local characteristics and historical cultural styles, tea houses, bars, theaters, performance squares, cafes, and fashionable bistros. West of the Tower, the street is mainly for cultural activities: local cultural exhibitions, museums, traditional handicrafts, tourism cultural products, oxygen bars, and pottery bars among other trendy spots. East of the Tower, the street is commercial in nature: local specialties, brand stores, supermarkets, clinics, and small eateries such as teppanyaki, sushi shops, and ice cream stores.
