The renowned feature within the scenic area is the Chishui Dapu Waterfall, also known as the Shi Zhang Dong Waterfall, located in the southern part of Chishui City, Guizhou Province. The waterfall cascades down a red Danxia cliff, standing 8 meters taller than the Huangguoshu Waterfall, making it a must-see attraction for visitors. Upon entering the scenic area, there is a fork in the road; one path is for pedestrians, and the other is for electric carts, allowing visitors to choose their preferred mode of travel.
Along the pedestrian path, one can appreciate the Danxia landform and breathe in the fresh air. At the end of the path lies the magnificent Chishui Dapu Waterfall, with the waterfall’s plunge into the pool creating glistening droplets and a thunderous roar. On sunny days, visitors may even catch a glimpse of a rainbow. Climbing onto the boulders in the pool allows for an intimate experience with the waterfall. Operating hours are from November 1st to March 31st, 08:30-17:00; and from April 1st to October 31st, 08:30-17:30.Preferential policies include: Children under 14 years old or under 1.2 meters in height enter for free; teenagers aged 14 to 17 years old enjoy half-price admission; disabled individuals enter for free with a valid ID; active-duty military personnel, disabled veterans, and retired military cadres enter for free with valid documents; journalists enter for free with a press card issued by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television; and individuals aged 60 and above enter for free with a valid ID.
Additional policies: Tour guides with a national tour guide certificate and travel managers with a qualification certificate issued by the National Tourism Administration enter for free, as do team leaders with a team leader certificate issued by the National Tourism Administration. Local Chishui interpreters enter for free with an interpreter’s certificate issued by the Chishui City Tourism Bureau, and team drivers enter for free with a driver’s license and vehicle license. Chishui residents, including veterans, enjoy discounts with valid ID.
Supplementary notes: 1. The above preferential policies apply only to the main entrance ticket; children under 1.2 meters in height are exempt from sightseeing bus and elevator tickets. 2. One caregiver accompanying individuals aged 80 and above may enter the park without a ticket.
