Chixi Wudong Bridge. The construction date is unknown. It can only be known that it was rebuilt in the third year of Xianchun in the Southern Song Dynasty (1267). It has a history of nearly a thousand years at least. This is a five-hole beam stone bridge, running from north to south. Now the river channel has silted up, and the bridge seems less important. It is just inserted low on the silt. The bridge is 24.6 meters long and 1.7 meters wide. It is so narrow that only one person can walk through. At the piers at the north and south ends, three square columns are arranged in parallel for each joint, and a capstone beam is placed on top. On one side of the stone beam of the middle hole is an inscription ‘Rebuilt in the auspicious month of Dingmao in the third year of Xianchun in the Song Dynasty’. The bridge is completely preserved, with a simple and unsophisticated shape and definite chronology. It is an important material for studying ancient bridges.
