Chongming Lotus Expo Garden

Chongming Lotus Expo Garden is located to the east of Mingzhu Lake Park and to the south of Chongming West Sand Wetland Park in Shanghai. It is one of the largest display and breeding scales of rare lotus varieties both domestically and internationally in the Shanghai area. The garden integrates the cultivation, appreciation, tasting, and tea-making of lotus flowers, and features multifunctional facilities for lotus culture research, scientific popularization, and ecological leisure tourism and entertainment.
Chongming Lotus Expo Garden has currently built 100 ‘Graceful and Diverse’ viewing pools, 6 ‘Beautiful and Colorful’ flower appreciation pavilions, 200 meters of ‘Mindful Leisure’ flower tasting corridors, a 2000 square meter rich and colorful flower art product exhibition and shopping area, and a four-season lotus viewing shed. Additionally, there is a 500 square meter Lotus Fairy multifunctional tourist entertainment square, a 3000 square meter lawn square for tourist leisure, and a 100 square meter tourist reception center. The garden also features a parking lot that can accommodate 400 vehicles at a time.

Currently, the garden has more than 6,000 plants of flowers and trees such as osmanthus, ginkgo, begonia, and crape myrtle, and more than 360 varieties of ornamental lotus, fragrant lotus, and edible lotus, including rare breeds such as ‘Space Lotus’ cultivated in space and ‘Ancient Lotus’ unearthed in Liaoning Province, as well as hundreds of water lily varieties and various rare aquatic plants with high medicinal value.


Opening Hours: January 1st to September 2nd from 08:00 to 18:00; September 3rd to October 10th from 08:00 to 22:00; October 11th to December 31st from 08:00 to 18:00.


Preferential Policies: Children aged 6 and under or with a height of 1.2 meters and under enter for free; those with a height between 1.2 meters and 1.4 meters receive discounted tickets. Elderly people aged 70 and over enter for free with an elderly card or ID; those aged between 60 and 70 receive discounted tickets. Chinese nationals aged between 60 and 70 with an elderly card or ID also receive discounted tickets. Active-duty Chinese military personnel enter for free with an officer’s or soldier’s ID. Disabled individuals enter for free with a disability certificate. Additional Note: Free ticket holders must be accompanied by an adult tourist to enter the garden.
