Lude Hall is located by the Jintang Lake in Zhengxing Town, Bishan District, Chongqing, and was built by a French priest in the 26th year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (AD 1890). As one of the larger Catholic churches in the southwestern region, Lude Hall features French Gothic architecture, exuding a simple and elegant charm. It consists of a nave, bishop’s building, bell tower, monastery, teaching building, cloister, and front and back gardens, integrating the essence of aesthetics, acoustics, optics, and architecture.

It is one of the larger Catholic churches in Eastern Sichuan. Surrounded by Jintang Lake, the church’s exterior can be viewed from the dam of Jintang Lake. On a clear day, with the blue sky and green trees as a backdrop, the white walls of Lude Hall, the cross on the roof, and the spires of the bell towers stand out prominently. Inside the main church, there is a blue arched dome supported by two rows of ten large stone pillars.

Above, there are three altars, with the Virgin of Lourdes in the center, Joseph on the left, and Jesus on the right. The walls are adorned with 14 paintings depicting the Passion of Jesus. Under sunlight, the chairs and people in the church cast shadows, while the ten stone pillars remain shadow-free, highlighting the unique lighting design. The opening hours and business status are subject to the daily opening conditions.

In addition to religious activities, Lude Hall is also chosen by many young people for their weddings. During the wedding ceremony, a choir sings and the priest blesses the couple, adding a romantic touch. The wedding rental fee is 1200 yuan, with additional costs for hiring a choir and a priest.
