The Chongqing Historical Celebrities Museum and Chongqing Cultural and Art Exhibition Center are located in the center of Chongqing (the starting point of zero kilometers in Chongqing, on the first basement floor of Chaotianmen Square), covering an area of 3,757 square meters. It is a comprehensive art venue displaying Chongqing’s history and historical celebrities. The exhibition hall is composed of ‘Celebrity Constellation’, ‘Preface’ and five major parts.
It has a holographic film screening hall of ‘The Battle of Diaoyu City’ and a data screening hall of ‘The War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and Memories of the Provisional Capital’. The museum displays a total of 200 historical celebrities of Chongqing, both native and non-native, who have made outstanding contributions to the social development and civilization progress of our city, the country and even the world since ancient times. According to five chapters, namely ‘Saga of Heroes through the Ages’, ‘Records of Years of Turmoil’, ‘Map of the Flames of War Against Japanese Aggression’, ‘Chapter of Fate’s Contest’, and ‘Chongqing Moving Forward’, through various artistic expression techniques such as sculptures, oil paintings, prints, and multimedia films, the life stories of various celebrities and the gathering of talents, historical changes over more than 3,000 years in Chongqing, and the ancient and modern features of Chongqing are vividly presented.Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year from 09:00 to 16:00.
