The Chongqing Qijiang National Geopark is located within Qijiang District, Chongqing City. It consists of three parks: Laoyingshan, Cuipingshan, and Gujianshan, with a total area of 99.98 square kilometers. It is a comprehensive national geopark that takes the wood fossil group, dinosaur footprint fossil group, and Danxia landform landscape as the main body and integrates various functions such as scientific research, popular science research and study tourism, and leisure sightseeing. Chongqing Qijiang National Geopark is located in the east of the Sichuan Basin and is the northern extension of the Dalou Mountains. It has an altitude of 1354 meters (Manao Mountain) and belongs to a subtropical humid climate zone. The vegetation is mostly subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest.
