The Shabaidi Traditional Style Area project covers an area of approximately 88 acres with a construction area of about 170,000 square meters and a total investment exceeding 2 billion yuan. In line with the project’s positioning, it will leverage Chongqing’s ‘mother city’ cultural tourism resources to integrate the development of modern cultural tourism industries, aiming to create a distinctive cultural tourism demonstration area and an international cultural showcase for Chongqing, becoming an international cultural tourism destination. It integrates commerce, scenery, travel, and culture into one, showcasing the panoramic view of Chongqing’s eight-hundred-year history and culture, and authentically creating a strong experiential cultural and tourism commercial demonstration base.
Chongqing Shabaidi Traditional Style Area, focusing on ‘urban sightseeing’, ‘intangible cultural heritage inheritance’, and ‘cultural creative experience’, combined with the industrial positioning of modern service industries such as ‘night economy’, achieves a panoramic experience development of ‘culture + tourism’, ‘culture + commerce’, ‘culture + creativity’, ‘culture + crossover’, and plans four distinctive areas: traditional culture experience, national trend cultural creative experience, international exchange center, and lifestyle center.
The traditional culture experience (AB areas) is based on the traditional folk culture, market culture, and historical architectural culture of the Bashu region, creating an open cultural experience block integrating cultural leisure, humanistic sightseeing, and dining and accommodation, deeply attracting foreign tourists. It introduces Sichuan and Chongqing hot pot, characteristic Jianghu dishes, fine Yu dishes, and special snacks, among other intangible cultural heritage displays, showcasing the unique ‘flavor of Chongqing’ and the charm of Bashu.
