Chongqing Wildlife World is a themed park in the southwestern region of China, approved by the State Forestry Administration in 2000. It integrates wildlife protection, breeding, eco-tourism, scientific education, animal rescue, and leisure entertainment into a large-scale ecological tourism park. The park boasts a superior geographical environment, surrounded by green mountains, with lakes interconnected within the park, covering an area of over 800 acres of water. It features three mountains—Panda Mountain, White Tiger Mountain, and Phoenix Mountain—encircled by clear blue waters, facing Changlin Mountain across, with lush greenery and a mild climate throughout the seasons, making it one of the best environments for wildlife breeding and observation in the country today.
Chongqing Wildlife World has introduced over 430 species and more than 30,000 rare wild animals from 14 countries across the five continents, including 260 species and over 10,000 animals classified as International Convention Appendix I and II levels and national key protected animals. There are more than 30 rare species, including the extremely rare Golden Tiger, the scarce Silver Tiger and White Tiger, as well as introduced species such as the Anchieta Antelope, Waterbuck, and Marsh Mongoose to mainland China. Additionally, the park has significant populations of giraffes, flamingos, duck family animals, and American lions, with numbers reaching 36, 300, 1,000, and over 20, respectively, ranking among the top in the nation.
Chongqing Wildlife World, with its rich animal species and large populations, has elevated the scale and quality of ecological research in the southwestern region and has become one of the gene banks and breeding research centers for wild animal species in the west. The park is open all year round from 09:30 to 17:00. The first and last sightseeing bus departure times for the wildlife world’s drive-through area are from 09:40 to 16:30 (Monday to Friday) and 09:10 to 17:00 (Saturday and Sunday).
Souvenir shop: There are multiple gift-themed stores in the park, such as Ali Baba’s Treasure Trove and Elven Artisan’s Home.
