The Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge, also known as the Shibanpo Yangtze River Bridge, is located between Shibanpo in Yuzhong District of Chongqing and Huanggedu Interchange in Nan’an District. It is an important transportation artery connecting Yuzhong Peninsula and Nan’an District as well as provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government on both sides of the Yangtze River in the north and south.
It is also an important export channel for Chongqing to the south of our country. This is the first highway bridge spanning the Yangtze River in Chongqing and also the first highway bridge in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. It was opened to traffic on July 1, 1980. The main span is 174 meters and it belongs to a T-shaped rigid frame bridge. The Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge spans the Yangtze River with majestic charm and has become one of the famous scenic spots in Chongqing.
