The Chuangguan East Film and Television Base scenic area, originally established in 2008, covers an area of about 230,000 square meters and is a comprehensive tourist attraction integrating Northeastern folk culture display, film and television shooting experience, traditional culture exchange, and patriotic education. It has been successively awarded as a national AAA-level tourist attraction, one of the first national designated filming locations for films and TV series, and an excellent national science education base.
The scenic area mainly consists of the Chuangguan East Folk Culture Village, Lushun Memory Commercial Street, Lushun Naval Battle Park, Old Dalian Style Block, Pet Animal Paradise, Film Style Exhibition Area (Lushun Red Celebrity Memorial Hall, Cultural Revolution Memory Exhibition Hall, Film Props Experience Hall, ‘Forensic Qin Ming’ Shooting Hall, ‘Old Tavern’ Shooting Hall, World Film Legend 3D Magic Art Hall), ‘Border of Love’ Photography Studio, Shenyang Railway Station, and Sandao Gully Village. During holidays, the scenic area arranges intangible cultural heritage performances, folk music, Yangko dances, song and dance, and Transformers interactive performances. The scenic area has filmed movies such as ‘The Wind Sound’, ‘Green Grass Men High School’, ‘Can Man’, and TV series like ‘Chuangguan East Chapter’, ‘Auntie Heduo’, ‘Wang Dahua’s Revolutionary Career’, ‘Fei Ge Squadron’, ‘Old Tavern’, ‘Border of Love’, ‘Forensic Qin Ming’, ‘Eagle Hunting in the Sky Cave’, and ‘New World’. Opening hours are from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round. Preferential policies include free admission for children: under 6 years old (inclusive) or under 1.3 meters in height (inclusive, accompanied by a guardian), half-price for students: minors from 6 years old (exclusive) to 18 years old (inclusive) and full-time university undergraduates and below with valid identification, half-price for the elderly: people over 60 years old (inclusive) with valid identification, half-price for active military personnel (including revolutionary disabled soldiers) with valid identification.
