Ciping is located at the heart of the Jinggangshan Scenic Area. It is not only a part of the scenic spot but also hosts numerous historical sites and relics from the red revolutionary period, making it a must-see destination. As a clean and tidy town, similar to Lushan’s Guling, Ciping serves as the base for travel, accommodation, and transportation in Jinggangshan. Regardless of your mode of arrival, your first stop will inevitably be here. The Jinggangshan Scenic Area’s sightseeing bus terminal, Ciping long-distance bus station, and train station – Ciping bus stop are all within the town. Since private vehicles are not allowed into the main attractions, even if you arrive by car, you must park in town and transfer to the scenic area’s sightseeing bus to visit the main attractions. The attractions in Ciping are included in the general admission ticket for the Jinggangshan Scenic Area, with a focus on red history. If you are not particularly interested in the history of the red revolution, you can choose to visit a few after the main tour itinerary each day. Although the town is not large, it is filled with buildings and offers a variety of accommodation options, including the well-established Jingtai Hotel and Jinggangshan Hotel. Smaller, more affordable lodgings can also be easily found for around a hundred yuan. The area with a concentration of food and accommodation is in the northern part of the town center, near Tian Street, where you can also find many small shops selling local specialties, such as Jinggangshan red rice. Across from the historical site complex, Yucui Lake Park is a very elegant green space within the town. The park features a small artificial lake surrounded by greenery, making it a pleasant place for a walk during the morning and evening. The Jinggangshan Revolutionary Museum, located to the west of the park, is built on a considerable scale and offers a systematic understanding of the figures and their deeds from the revolutionary period through text, displays, and various audio-visual effects. History enthusiasts should not miss it. Not far to the south of Yucui Lake Park, on the peak of Nanshan Park, stands a group statue of workers, peasants, and soldiers, which is a landmark of the area. There are several observation decks nearby for sightseeing. The opening hours and business status are subject to the daily opening conditions. A must-see tip: dining prices in Ciping are relatively high, and during peak tourist seasons and holidays, accommodation may be in short supply and prices may rise, so it is advisable to book in advance.
