The Ciyuan Palace is located in Tatouliu Village, Dongshi Town, Jinjiang City. After several renovations by later generations, the “Ciyuan Palace” is now even more magnificent and resplendent. Especially, it complements the “Ciyuan Pagoda” by the seashore, and has become a major scenic spot in the village.
Every year on the fourth day of the fourth lunar month, a birthday celebration of Empress Dowager Ciyuan (commonly known as “Buddha’s birthday” in Jinjiang rural areas) is held. Nowadays, with the transformation of customs, it has evolved into the “Ciyuan Cultural Festival”.
