Sansheng Palace, also known as Golden Flower Temple, was built as early as the fourth year of Tongzhi (1865). The temple building is small in scale, only one deep. From the couplets outside the door, we can learn that Coloane was formerly known as Salt Bay and the history of salt production. In the past, Coloane was nicknamed “Yanzao”, “Yanzao Bay” and “Huilan”. The Sansheng Palace is dedicated to the Golden Flower Empress, Guanyin Empress and Master Huaguang. More than 200 years ago, fishermen moved the statue of the Golden Flower Queen to Coloane to build a temple, and the Three Saints Palace was built. According to legend, the Golden Flower Empress has the magical power to deliver children, and at the same time protects children’s healthy growth, so it attracts devotees to worship. In 2002, the temple was renovated after being damaged by wind and rain. There is a precious bronze bell with historical value hanging in the temple, which is the treasure of the temple. Walking along Boatman Street where San Sheng Temple is located, you can see the only remaining stilt houses in Macau, which are made of wood and iron and are full of fishing village characteristics.
