Contemporary Teochew Hand-Pulled Clay Pot Exhibition: ‘Square Inch Ingenuity’

Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, both the economy and culture have been continuously developing. The art of Teochew hand-pulled clay pots has flourished and become a national intangible cultural heritage. In terms of craftsmanship, there is an even greater pursuit of the delicacy of hand-made products. These pots are not only vessels for holding tea soup but also the most direct and concrete carriers of Teochew Gongfu tea culture. Today, through the inheritance and development of generations, numerous masters have emerged. They work together, research, and innovate, forming four major craft characteristics: thin-walled clay, thick-walled sand-mixed, bright needle pressing sand-mixed, and twisted clay, reaching a new height of development. The exhibition borrows 101 pieces/sets of hand-pulled clay pots from the Chaozhou City Museum, aiming to showcase the unique cultural charm of Teochew hand-pulled clay pots. Open from 9/27 to 11/22, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status.
