The Hall of Long Corridor at the Temple of Heaven

The Hall of Long Corridor, located to the east of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, serves as a connection between the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the Slaughtering Pavilion, and the Northern God’s Kitchen, facilitating the transportation of sacrificial offerings. Originally constructed as a closed structure with seventy-two rooms, it was designed to protect the offerings from the elements such as wind, snow, and rain. In 1932, the Temple of Heaven was opened to the public, and the southern wall of the long corridor was dismantled, transforming it into an open-style structure. The site is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day, with specific operational status subject to daily opening conditions.
